Artist Dvora Morag recommends the artists residency at the Centro de Arte Contemporânea Graça Morais in Regensburg, Portugal:
The Museum of Contemporary Art in Riga invited me for a one-month residency to set up an exhibition. The opening was part of an international academic conference on the Martyrs of Portugal (Terras de Sefard) sponsored by the Regensburg mayor and the Israeli Embassy in Portugal. The exhibition was commissioned by the director and curator of the center, Mr. Jorje Costa. He is a wonderful man with enormous knowledge and extraordinary sensitivity. It was a joy working with him.
When I arrived at the lovely apartment I received, a massive bouquet was waiting for me, and in every room, there were additional bouquets and a bowl of cherries. I stayed there for about a month, during which about fifteen men and women helped me with enthusiasm and a lot of goodwill to set up the installations.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience: Getting to know the museum and the extraordinary cooperation with the whole staff. And the result was a unique and exciting exhibition.
